It's a great way to carry and spend cash abroad. It allows you to pre-load US dollars, euros or sterling on to a card that you can use with a PIN number where VISA is accepted.

How to apply

Apply for your new Travel Money Card in your nearest Barclays branch.

It’s safe and secure - and travel size – so you won’t need to carry large amounts of cash. If your card is lost or stolen, you can use our Emergency Services line to put a stop on your card and arrange a replacement.

The Travel Money Card isn’t linked to your current account so it could also help you manage your holiday budget. And best of all, it’s easy to set up and there’s no fee for issuing the card.

If you are an existing Barclays customer, you can order a Travel Money Card in any Barclays branch. All you need are your account details for identification.

Your Travel Money Card will then be delivered free to your home. It's activated by a simple phone call, during which you are given your PIN number. You can top up your Travel Money Card over the phone, day and night, from anywhere in the world where there's a phone connection.
