How can I find out about current vacancies with Barclays?
All of our current UK vacancies are advertised on our Careers Website. To view our current vacancies click on Job Search under UK Roles (under How to Apply in the General Appointments section)
How do I apply for a position with Barclays?
Once you have found a position that is of interest to you click on Apply Online to commence the application process. This will take you to the Login page. If you have not already registered, click New User and enter a user name, password and valid email address in the New User Registration page. If you are a returning user, enter your user name and password and click Login. Please note: If you are already a permanent employee of Barclays please apply via the Internal Job Board.
How do I create my user name and password?
Your user name can be any unique value. We recommend that you use an email address or a username that is easy to remember.
Your password must comply with the following rules:
- It must contain between 6 and 32 characters.
- Use only characters from the following set: ! # $ % & ( ) * + , - . / 0123456789 : ; < = > ? @ ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXYZ [ ] _ ` abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz { | } ~
- It must contain at least 1 letter(s).
- It must contain at least 1 numeric character.
- It must not contain more than 2 identical consecutive characters.
- Must not contain your user name.
What information do I need to complete an application?
You will be requested to provide the following details as part of the application process:
- Personal and contact details
- A curriculum vitae and optional cover letter to support your application
- Your Education, Certification and Work Experience history
- Diversity details (please note: this is provided on a voluntary basis and is not used in the selection process)
- Job specific details - for some vacancies you may be asked to answer questions specific to the role you are applying for and/or complete an online assessment questionnaire. You will be informed during the application process as to whether this is a requirement.
Do I have to complete an application form when I have Curriculum Vitae?
Our application forms have been designed to collect key information that we need to assess your suitability for a specific position. To give yourself the best opportunity for success, please provide us with as many details as possible.
I'm not interested in applying for any roles currently posted. Can I still upload my details and be advised when suitable positions become available?
Yes. You can create a profile to specify your preferred working criteria for any future openings which match your interests. Click on Access my profile on the Job Search page and upload your General Profile. The first page gives you the option to receive email notifications.
Please note you can also sign up for email notifications during the application process for a specific vacancy.
How do I apply for a vacancy if I am a returning user?
Once you have submitted an application or created a profile on the system, your details will be saved against your username and password. As a returning visitor you will not need to re-type your information when applying for a new or different role. However, please ensure that you review the information which has been stored under your profile before submitting your new application to check that it is current and correct.
How do I know that my application has been received by Barclays?
You will receive an onscreen acknowledgement confirming that your application has been submitted. You will also receive an email from Barclays advising you that we have received your application. Please note: you may need to check the junk folders within your email account.
All correspondence sent to your email address is stored in My Submissions under the My Jobpage tab. This displays all relevant details related to your draft and completed submissions. Click on View Email Messages under your submission then click on the Subject title to view the message.
Am I able to save my application and complete it at a later date?
Yes. When completing an application you can click on Save as Draft at any time to save the details you have entered.
To access and complete a draft application, log into your account and go to My Submissions under the My Jobpage tab. Find your draft and click Finish Draft Submission to complete the application process. Draft submissions will be saved for 30 days or until the Closing Date (whichever is sooner).
Am I able to view and edit my application after submission?
You are able to view your application at any time, however you are only able to edit your application whilst the vacancy is posted. To access your application, log into your account and go to My Submissions under the My Jobpage tab. Click on View/Edit Submission (please note: this will display as View Submission only after the closing date) to access your application and/or to make any amendments.
How can I find out the status of my application?
Once you have applied for a role, you will be able to track the progress of your application. To do this, log into your account and go to My Submissions under the My Jobpage tab. The Submission Status displays under each submission. Click on this to view more details.
How can I withdraw my application?
You are able to withdraw your application at any time by clicking on My Jobpage followed by My Submissions. Click on Withdraw under the relevant submission if you no longer wish your application to be considered.
What should I do if I've forgotten my user name or password?
If you have forgotten your user name, click on Forget your user name? on the Login page. You will be prompted to provide some personal information such as your first name, last name, street address and email address. Once you've entered these details click Validate to check if the information provided matches a unique candidate record. Please note: email addresses typically produce the best results. The system will retrieve your user account based on the details provided and will display your user name.
If you have forgotten your password, click on Forgot your password? on the Login page. You will be prompted to enter your user name and email address, then click OK. An email will be sent to you containing instructions on how to change your password.
Can I hand my curriculum vitae into a Branch?
We require that all applications are submitted online. This ensures that your application is processed and reviewed in the most efficient manner and allows you to keep track of its progress.
