PREMIER INVESTMENT ISA

snowflake

The Defined Returns Plan provides great potential for growth over five years and repays your capital at maturity.

  • A fixed return of 37.5% provided that at the end of five years the final level of the FTSE 100 Index is no lower than the level at the start of the investment.
  • This is a fixed, five-year term investment, although you could sell your Plan before maturity. If you do so, you might receive back less than you invested.
  • Peace of mind knowing that when your Plan matures, you will receive full payment of your initial investment, even if the level of the FTSE 100 Index is lower than when you initially invested.
  • You can choose to invest from £3,600** to £7,200 tax-free per tax year.  If you like the sound of it, you can invest more outside of an ISA.

Is the Defined Returns Plan right for you?
We have outlined some of the key considerations to help you decide whether the Plan meets your requirements.

Amount invested Rise or fall in FTSE 100 Index What you could receive at maturity
£5,000 +30% £6,875 (37.5% fixed return paid)
£5,000 +10% £6,875 (37.5% fixed return paid)
£5,000 No change £6,875 (37.5% fixed return paid)
£5,000 -10% £5,000 (no return paid)
£5,000 -30% £5,000 (no return paid)

What are the risks?

  • The product offered is a fixed five-year term investment. You could sell your investment before maturity, but if you do so, you are likely to receive back less than you invested.
  • This product is protected by the credit worthiness of Barclays. If Barclays fails to meets its obligations, you may get back less than you invested or nothing at all.

I may be interested in this investment because:

  • I will get a return of 37.5% provided the FTSE 100 at maturity is equal to or higher than its level at the starting date.
  • I need to know my original capital is 100% protected, if I leave it for the full five-year term.
  • I am interested in the potential of what might be a higher return than that received from a deposit account.
  • This product offers an option to invest outside of your ISA allowance. Any investment above your £7,200 tax-free allowance will be subject to tax.

This investment may not suit me because:

  • The Plan is designed for investors who can invest an amount for a five-year period and leave their capital invested.
  • I don't want to risk earning no return on my investment.
  • All the Plan's benefits are paid at the end of the five-year investment period. No income or other benefit is paid before then.
  • While I can sell the Plan before the five-year term, I may receive back less than I invested if I sell the Plan before maturity.
  • I want to invest for longer than five years.
