Transfer money guide
How do I transfer money in Online Banking?
You can easily transfer money between your own Barclays accounts online, saving you a trip to a branch. Transfers can be made instantly, allowing you to top-up your savings or boost your current account. Just follow these steps or see our Online Banking demo:
- Log-in to Online Banking.
- Select Transfer Money from the menu.
- Choose your Barclays accounts that you want to transfer money from and to in Step 1.
- Type how much you want to transfer (there are limits to how much) and when you want the transfer made. You can either choose an immediate transfer or a date in the future.
- Check the details you've given us in Step 2. If they're correct, you must select the 'next' button to set-up the transfer.
- If you set up a transfer to be made on a date in the future but then change your mind, you can change or cancel it by selecting Change Transfers from the menu on your homepage. The payment will be shown on your See Statements screen if you've arranged for it to be made immediately.
Remember - if there aren't sufficient cleared funds in your account on the day before the transfer's due, it may not be made.
If you want to pay money into someone else's account, choose Pay a Bill or Someone from the menu in Online Banking.
Try it now by transferring £1 between your accounts.
