Logging in and out Help and Security
Using Online Banking Making payments

Logging in and out

  1. Save time logging in - go to www.barclays.co.uk/login then save your details on step 1.
  2. Having problems logging in? Try quitting the browser and launching it again. To get Online Banking at its speediest, avoid logging in at peak times: 9am-11am weekdays and around lunchtime during the week.
  3. Always log out of Online Banking to ensure nobody can access your accounts. The 'log-out' link is on the top-right of every screen. You'll get a screen confirming you've logged out.
  4. Managing someone else's accounts? Make sure you use your own details to log in. Then click 'Select Customer' from the screen you're taken to.

Help and security

  1. Don't give your full memorable word and passcode to anyone at any time. We only ask for two letters from your word when you log in.
  2. Don't allow anyone to use your membership even if it's a joint, business or third party account as you won't be protected against fraud. Your membership will be suspended if you use someone else's details.
  3. When you're logging in, always ensure the site is secure by checking to see the padlock symbol is displayed on your browser and that the URL begins 'https'.
  4. Need help using Online Banking? Select 'Ask a question' at any time.

Using Online Banking

  1. If you double-click buttons or links you'll be logged out. This is for security reasons and to ensure that an application or transaction is processed in the right way. If you've already clicked on a button or link, wait for the page to load.
  2. Always use the 'next' and 'back' buttons on the bottom right of your screens to move through Online Banking as your browser back and forward buttons won't work and you may get logged out. We do this for security reasons.
  3. You can choose how you view your online statements by visiting the 'Customise my online account settings' link in the menu of your homepage.

Making payments

  1. Always check that the payment details you're using are correct before confirming a payment.
  2. Making a payment to a credit card? Use the long card number as the reference.
  3. If possible, print step 4 of 4. This is confirmation that your payment's been made and can be referred to if you have any problems.
  4. If you've got payees saved that you no longer use, delete them using Delete Payees from the menu of your At a Glance page.
  5. Need more help making payments? See our top tips for payments or our guides to paying a bill and transferring money.
