Make the most of your money on holiday. By using your Barclays Connect or Electron card in cash machines in our Global Alliance of banks, you don't have to pay transaction charges.
This can save you between £1.50 and £4.50 in withdrawal transaction charges, depending on the amount withdrawn. You can use your cards worldwide at cash machines outside the Global Alliance displaying the VISA or PLUS signs but you will have to pay the relevant transaction fee*.

Cash machines work in the same way as they do at home and will work in English when you put your card in. |
All card payments made in a currency other than sterling will be converted into sterling by the card scheme (e.g. Visa or MasterCard) on the date it processes the transaction, using the exchange rate it uses for all sterling based accounts (this rate is available on request), and a percentage commission which we set on the amount of the payment. This rate may not be the same as the rate that applied on the date the transaction was made, if the payment is processed by the card scheme after that date.
